The Journeyman Electrician works under supervision and direction of the Electrical Production Supervisor and is responsible for a variety of electrical assembly duties as related to the manufacturing of Valid Products.

Responsibilities:
- Wiring and assembly of power distribution kiosks, equipment and enclosures.
- Inspects, monitors and verifies work performed to assure compliance and completion within appropriate standards and regulations.
- Follow electrical distribution layouts and recommend changes as necessary.
- Keep accurate and legible time records in the time collection system.
- As required, provides guidance to assistant electrical assemblers.
- Maintains workspace, tools and equipment in safe, clean and neat condition.
Skills & Abilities:
- Willingness to contribute and participate as part of the team, shows initiative.
- Strong organizational ability, good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings required for the electrical assembly of a wide variety of electrical related products.
- Must be able to use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects skillfully.
- Uses critical thinking skills to analyze problems systematically, organize information, find root causes and generate options or solutions.
- Must adhere to all safety practices and procedures and work in a safe manner at all times.
Requirements:
- A valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate is preferred, however 3rd or 4th year apprentices with relevant work experience will be considered.
- Exhibits maturity, professionalism, and a customer-first focus.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
- Must be physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Required to work shift work and should be available to work overtime if requested.

Mechanical Designer

Salary Range: $52,000-$84,000 per year

Valid is searching for a Mechanical Designer who is responsible for the maintenance and support of existing product lines and over time will be responsible for the design and development of new products. This role may be assigned several projects simultaneously and will be responsible for their overall success, all while working closely with other departments within the company.

- Supports existing product lines and modifies products according to customer’s specific needs.
- Develops new product variants ensuring that designs are as cost effective as possible.
- Communicates regularly with manufacturing.
- Production and maintenance of all fabrication drawings.
- Ensures accuracy of bill of materials and fabrication procedures.
- Gains knowledge of manufacturing processes to support decision making.

- Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma or Engineering Degree.
- Previous SolidWorks work experience.
- Good working knowledge of design tables and sheet metal parts.
- Must have competent computer skills with MS Office products.
- Experience in the design of weldments, machined parts and sheet metal parts an asset.
- Experience in relative costing of various manufacturing processes an asset.

The HR and Finance Generalist will be the primary point of contact for all Human Resource functions while supporting finance/accounting and cross-department administrative needs. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources
- Leads full-cycle recruitment processes, including creating job advertisements, collecting resumes, candidate screening, and interviewing.
- Leads new employee hiring, onboarding and training initiatives.
- Promotes positive employee relations and a respectful workplace culture.
- Provides guidance and support to operations and managers on HR policies, best practices, and employment standards.
- Coordinates benefit administration and employee recordkeeping with the payroll administrator.
- Supports managers with conflict resolution and performance management
- Develops, updates and communicates programs, policies and processes relating to employee relations, health and safety, wellness, and other HR needs.
- Stays up to date with legislation (BC Employment Standards, Personal Information & Protection Act, Workers Compensation Act and BC Human Rights Act).
- In collaboration with the Controller, conducts internal reviews of compensation and job duties for both internal consistency as well as external market comparison and equity.
- Leads internal HR initiatives and projects.
Finance
- Provides hands-on support for various Finance roles, including AR, AP, payroll and Work Order processing.
- Provides support in the preparation of monthly reports and tasks for financial, HR or administrative requirements.
- Supports budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
Administration Support
- Provides general administrative support across departments.
- Maintains accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Assists with scheduling, correspondence and company-wide communications.
This position requires:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of HR generalist experience.
- Solid understanding of finance/accounting principles, and a minimum of 2 years of experience with bookkeeping or financial support tasks is required. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to maintain a strong perception of confidentiality while serving as a positive, enthusiastic and independent advisor for staff and managers.
- Experience in manufacturing using an ERP/MRP system would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel.
- Above average communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated strengths in building trusting relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive, growing company located in the heart of the Shuswap. The base starting salary for this position is in the range of $65,000 to $90,000, however, compensation will be determined based on the combined education and experience of the candidate.
