The Position:
The Customs & Logistics Coordinator role is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the movement of products to ensure supplies, materials and finished goods are shipped and received on schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The coordinator prepares and processes all customs documents for both International & U.S. shipments and assigns Harmonized System (HS) Codes while determining applicable duties and tariffs. Responsibilities:
Research and plan optimal routes considering factors such as fragility, size, cost, transit time, security, destination and required delivery dates.
- Assign Harmonized System (HS) codes to products and determine applicable duties and tariffs based on destination country regulations and product classification
- Prepare accurate and complete shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, customs declarations, and other required paperwork
- Ensure compliance with all customs documentation and trade regulations, maintaining current knowledge of legislation and tariff schedules that affect Valid’s supply chain
- Serve as an internal resource on international trade, customs compliance, and logistics best practices
- Negotiate with shipping and logistics vendors to ensure the cost effectiveness of shipments
- Resolve damage claims with vendors and ensure all necessary follow-up is completed
- Liaise with third parties to move goods in accordance with customer or supplier requirements
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth delivery operations to deadlines
Skills & Abilities:

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation or logistics, including knowledge of export regulations, procedures, and related documentation

- Experience obtaining necessary permits for shipments, including oversized or special loads, as required by jurisdictional authorities.
- Preference will be given to candidates who possess a certificate or diploma in a related field. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), equivalent certification, or current enrollment in a relevant Customs, Shipping, or Brokerage program with applicable experience is preferred.

- Ideally will have a minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a shop environment.
- Must be able to understand engineered drawings and specifications as well as be able to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations with limited supervision.
- Work requires the ability to perform a variety of both simple and complex welds.

The Position:
As the Assembler, you will primarily focus on performing a wide variety of moderately complex Mechanical Assembly duties as related to the manufacture of Valid Manufacturing Ltd. products. The successful candidate will be given guidance and direction from senior assembly and production employees as well as provide assistance and support as part of the team.

Responsibilities:
- Mechanical assembly of valid products in a shop environment.
- Uses all hand tools such as hammers, screw drivers, vise grips, etc., as well as power tools such as drills, grinders, chop-saws and band-saws.
- Keeps accurate records in our time collection system using a computer.
- Maintains workspace, tools and equipment in a safe, clean and neat condition.
- Required to identify components and assemblies by part number, type, function, size and color.
- Must adhere to all safety practices and procedures and work in a safe manner at all times.
Skills & Abilities:
- Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Read and interpret drawings for a wide variety of Valid products.
- Plan, organize and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
- Repetitively perform high quality work by paying attention to details.
- Willingness to contribute and participate as part of the team.
- Shows initiative.
- Strong organizational ability, good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be open to positive and constructive feedback.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, work on ladders and/or scaffolding and be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times, to perform assigned tasks.
- Must be able to use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects skillfully.
