The Position:

The Assembler performs a wide variety of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic assembly duties related to the manufacture of Valid Manufacturing Ltd. Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical products. This individual will follow guidance and direction from senior assembly and production employees, and provide assistance and support as part of the team.

Responsibilities:

• Mechanical and pneumatic assembly, electrical or electronics component installation.
• Wiring and testing of electrical product assemblies.
• Keep accurate and legible time records on travelers and in the time collection system.
• Maintain workspace, tools and equipment in a safe, clean and neat condition.
• Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
• Must be able to plan, organize and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
• Work requires ability to repetitively perform high quality work by paying attention to details.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical experience and/or aptitude an asset.
• Exhibits maturity, professionalism, and a customer-first focus
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
• Uses all hand tools such as drills, grinders, hammers, screw drivers, vise grips, etc., as well as power tools such as chop-saws and band-saws.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Must be able to stand for long periods
• Must be able to work on ladders and/or scaffolding
• Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects skillfully.

Shipper

The Shipper will work under the supervision and direction of the shipping lead hand.  This individual is accountable for the care and handling of outbound shipments. The Shipper provides assistance and support to manufacturing programs and procedures.

• Pick and package outgoing shipments
• Build pallets or crates as required
• Involved in the monitoring and handling of shop supplies and floor stock

• Uses handcart, hoist or forklift to assist with material handling

Journeyman Electrician

Location: Salmon Arm, B.C.

Position Type: Full-time

Wage Range:  $22.00 – $37.66 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday (1:30 pm to 12:00 am)

Responsibilities:

• Wiring and assembly of power distribution kiosks, equipment and enclosures.
• Inspects, monitors and verifies work performed to assure compliance and completion within appropriate standards and regulations.
• Follow electrical distribution layouts and recommend changes as necessary.

• As required, provides guidance to assistant electrical assemblers.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
• Must be physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Required to work shift work and should be available to work overtime if requested.

Accounting Support Clerk

Location: Salmon Arm, B.C.

Responsibilities:

• Enter material receipts and Accounts Payable Invoices into MRP system
• Perform daily invoicing and Sales Order reviews, daily reporting and administration relating to the order management process

Requirements:

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Office administration or Accounting/Bookkeeping Certificate is an asset
• 1 – 2 years of previous related experience
• Must be computer literate with solid math, MS Excel and Word skills
• Production, Logistics and Shipping experience considered an asset
• Willingness to contribute and participate as part of the team.
• Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
