The Position:

With the rapid expansion in evolving electrical technologies Valid Manufacturing has an immediate opening for a full time Technical Sales Specialist located in the lower mainland . The successful applicant will thrive in a dynamic environment that presents opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge projects as well as enable you to use your skills in customer service and support by liaising with the key accounts on both a technical and logistical basis. You will provide customer and on-site support and training as required with the backup of the resources at the plant.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Capable of handling multiple projects at various stages of development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced with management and the scheduling of project tasks.
  • Exemplary Customer Service skills

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Electrician or a diploma from an accredited Institute of Technology
  • Familiar with Canadian Electrical Code and local utility requirements
  • 5+ years in a customer service roll
  • Proven history of development and maintenance of key accounts
  • Able to work independently
  • Valid drivers license

Salary Range: $48,000 – $66,000

The Production Supply and Sales Support position is responsible for the supporting supply chain and customer sales support for vehicle harness manufacturing at our Nelson facility.

This Position Requires:

  • Processes orders for custom assembly products and submits accurate sales order information to accounting to be entered into ERP system.
  • Create and update new product component data in ERP system.
  • For purchase orders issued, verifies accuracy of specifications, prices, cost of shipping and delivery dates.
  • Computer literate, experienced with ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to provide a consistent high level of service to internal requestors and external customers while paying close attention to details.
  • Ability to match customer requests for custom assembly products using a basic understanding of assembly.
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • A combination of prior relevant education, experience and abilities may be considered.

  • Assists with customer quotations for custom assembly products.
  • Compile reports and maintain data, primarily in Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with good interpersonal skills that can take on an assignment and see it through to its successful completion, independently or as part of a larger team.
  • A customer service focused attitude with the ability to remain calm and tactful in stressful situations.
  • Data entry into ERP and Intranet system.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments to coordinate work.

  • Experience in administration or sales, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exhibits maturity, professionalism, and a customer-first focus.

Assembler – Wire Harness

Location: Nelson, B.C.

Department: Harness Assembly

Wage Range: $20-$25/ hour

As the Assembler – Wire Harness, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting wire harnesses used in various electrical systems and applications. The ideal candidate should have experience in soldering, crimping, and interpreting electrical schematics. This person will follow guidance and direction from Product Managers, Support technician and Senior Management and provide assistance and support as part of the team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Cut, strip, and crimp wires to specified lengths and connections.
  • Assemble wire harnesses according to design specifications.
  • Solder connections and splice wires as necessary.
  • Secure and organize wires, cables, and connectors within harnesses.
  • Keeps accurate and legible time records on travelers and in the time collection system.
  • Maintains workspace, tools and equipment in a safe, clean and neat condition.
  • Required to identify components and assemblies by part number, type, function, size and color.
  • Provides direction, guidance, and oversees the quality of work performed by fellow assemblers, as required.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings for a wide variety of Valid products
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Must be able to plan, organize and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
  • Work requires ability to repetitively perform high quality work by paying attention to details.
  • Willingness to contribute and participate as part of the team.
  • Shows initiative.
  • Strong organizational ability, good interpersonal and communication skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical experience and/or aptitude an asset.
  • Exhibits maturity, professionalism, and a customer-first focus
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Uses all hand tools such as drills, grinders, hammers, screw drivers, vise grips, etc., as well as power tools such as chop-saws and band-saws.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to work on ladders and/or scaffolding
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks
  • Must be able to use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects skillfully.
