Electrical Product Engineer/Technologist

Located in Salmon Arm, BC, Valid Manufacturing is looking for a full time Electrical Product Engineer or Technologist that will provide assistance to our electrical service equipment design team that is creating new products and evolving existing ones to meet market demands.

Key things we are looking for:
Applicants should have a Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a Diploma from an accredited Institute of Technology that reflects the following capabilities:
- Define product specifications for the purpose of guiding a design group.
- Draw on available technologies in the development of new products.
- Prepare electrical drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards.
- Provide calculations of various design and performance criteria.
- Compile test results and generate product service and operational documentation.
- Work as an integral part of the Quality Assurance program to ensure product reliability.
- Act as a technical resource to the Estimating Department in preparing proposals.
- Maintain design schedule to ensure that information is available to Manufacturing in order to achieve delivery dates.
As a member of our Electrical Engineering team, you demonstrate the following:
- Self-motivated, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
- Capable of handling multiple projects at various stages of development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experienced with management and the scheduling of project tasks.
- Thrive in a team environment.
- Familiar with Canadian Electrical Code.
- Experienced with CAD software.

As a senior member of the management team the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the Company’s accounting activities including, but not limited to; financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable/receivables, year-end audit preparation, cash flow management and forecasting activities.
In this hands on role, the manager is responsible for ensuring all financial reporting activities are completed in an accurate and timely manner, and participates as a member of the management team.

Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring financial systems, controls and procedures.
- Providing senior level financial expertise across the company, including financial analysis to support sales, estimating, engineering and production.

- Developing strong partnerships with internal and external contacts to maximize the effectiveness of those relationships.
- Collaboratively supporting the management of company business systems with the IT Department; and
- Collaboratively supporting the management of company HR functions, managing the employee life cycle.
This position requires:
- Demonstrated experience as a senior member of an accounting or finance team.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or progress towards completion is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing using an ERP/MRP system would be an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel.
- Above average communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive growing company located in the heart of the Shuswap. The right candidate has a strong handle of core accounting functions, as well as an aptitude to learn about and support other areas of the company. The base starting salary for this position is in the range of $80,000 to $120,000, however, compensation will be determined based on the combined education and experience of the applicant.
