The Position:

The Assembler performs a wide variety of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic assembly duties related to the manufacture of Valid Manufacturing Ltd. Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical products. This individual will follow guidance and direction from senior assembly and production employees, and provide assistance and support as part of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical and pneumatic assembly, electrical or electronics component installation.
  • Wiring and testing of electrical product assemblies.
  • Keep accurate and legible time records on travelers and in the time collection system.
  • Maintain workspace, tools and equipment in a safe, clean and neat condition.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Must be able to plan, organize and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
  • Work requires ability to repetitively perform high quality work by paying attention to details.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings for a wide variety of Valid products
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical experience and/or aptitude an asset.
  • Exhibits maturity, professionalism, and a customer-first focus
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Uses all hand tools such as drills, grinders, hammers, screw drivers, vise grips, etc., as well as power tools such as chop-saws and band-saws.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to work on ladders and/or scaffolding
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks
  • Must be able to use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects skillfully.

The Powder Coating Applicator will work under the supervision and direction of the Production Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring the high-quality finish of our powder coated products.   • Applies powder as per specifications and ensures quality of finish throughout the powder coating process.
  • Participates in material preparation through pretreatment dip tanks.
  • Applies masking for multi-colour applications.
  • Manages loading and unloading of oven to facilitate smooth material flow.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized; assist as required in the daily maintenance of equipment.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • A solid work ethic with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Will follow directions, and seek clarification of duties as required.
  • Pays attention to details with ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
  • Can perform well with little supervision as experience is gained.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or related industry is an asset.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks.

  • Uses handcart, hoist or forklift to assist with material handling

 

Skills & Abilities:

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid BC driver’s license
  • Ability to use power tools – table saw, chop saw, power saw, nail gun, skill saw etc.
  • Ability to build pallets and/or crates
