Valid™ is pleased to announce we have achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification. We started the process in March 2020 to formalize our long-standing commitment to quality and to provide our customers with an additional level of confidence in the systems and products designed by Valid™.
What is an ISO Certification?
ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard that showcases a company’s dedication to quality management systems, which recognizes that customer satisfaction is the core of a business. ISO (International Organization of Standardization) is an international organization that creates and develops sets of standards to ensure consistency with quality, efficiency and safety of systems, products and services within a variety of industries. ISO 9001:2015 can be broken down into 3 sections:
ISO
The first section (ISO) is a direct reference to the recognized, non-government organization that has developed the standard. The process to develop these standards begins with a market need within a specific area. From the identified market gap, a draft proposal is created and shared with a large team of nominated technical experts for discussion and voting. If the draft passes consensus, it is further analyzed and modified with a team of experts until it becomes a standard. The timeline from first proposal to final publication of a developed standard is usually 3 years.
9001
The second section of Valid’s achieved certification (9001) refers to a specific classification of standard. ISO develops many standards within multiple industries; each standard within the ISO 9000 family is related to quality management. Quality management standards help to create an efficient work environment while reducing product failures. ISO 9001 has been developed with various quality management principles as the base; among the core principles are maintaining a strong customer focus and a process for continual improvement.
2015
The final section of the certification (2015) simply refers to the year the standard was launched. Presently, ISO 9001:2015 is the most up to date version of quality management based certification available.
